Thru the Bible – Day 26

If you use Facebook, we are posting these each day on our page there, and we will also post these here each day. We welcome your thoughts here or on Facebook.

Day 26 – Thru the Bible

We continue our journey through Exodus and Psalms.

Exodus 28-29 – God makes a coverings for Aaron and his sons as priests to cover their sinfulness.

Where else have we already seen God make a covering for mankind?

This covering also makes Aaron and his sons fit to stand in God’s presences.

How does this also point us forward to Jesus and our relationship to God?

Under the Old Covenant the people needed the priests to mediate on their behalf.

How is this a foreshadow of what all believers would become under the New Covenant? Hint: 1 Peter 2:9, Revelation 1:5-6.

Psalm 26 – With God’s grace (“steadfast love”) as his focal point, he has pursued a publicly worshipful life of gratitude (v. 7).

The result has been “integrity” in his dealings (v. 1), moral separation in his social life (vv. 4–5), and humble passion in his worship (vv. 6–8, 12).

Yet this determination to walk uprightly is NOT a moralistic, self-generated effort (v. 11a); David knows he needs redemption and grace (v. 11b).

Because of this grace, whatever happens, David stands on level ground (v. 12).

How are you experiencing God’s grace in your daily life?
