Thru the Bible – Day 16

If you use Facebook, we are posting these each day on our page there, and we will also post these here each day. We welcome your thoughts here or on Facebook.

Day 16 – Thru the Bible

Today we continue in Genesis and Psalms.

Genesis 48 – Once more it is the younger son who receives the blessing. Ephraim receives from Jacob the blessing of the firstborn, indicating that the special line traced throughout Genesis will continue through his descendants, ultimately reaching culmination in Jesus Christ.

Do you see a parallel between Jacob crossing his arms to bless the one who does not deserve it, and how God does the same with us and Jesus? Explore this thought and give your response.

Genesis 49 – Jacob blesses his sons.

What do you notice about the blessing given to Judah?

How does this point us the Jesus?

Genesis 50 Joseph explains to his brothers that what they meant for evil, God is using for bringing good.

How is this a shadow of what would be accomplished in Jesus?

Psalm 16 – David was speaking ultimately about Jesus Christ (Acts 2:25–33). The believer’s union with Jesus’ resurrection and exaltation to the right of God is the ultimate source of our infallible protection.

How do you take refuge in the Lord?
