Thru the Bible – Day 12

If you use Facebook, we are posting these each day on our page there, and we will also post these here each day. We welcome your thoughts here or on Facebook.

Day 12 – Thru the Bible

Genesis 38 – This chapter interrupts the Joseph story with some pretty sordid stuff. Notice this is Judah, the one from whose line would come the Messiah.

What does this reveal about who God uses to fulfill His plans?

It goes further. From Tamar’s illegitimate pregnancy will come Perez, who will father Boaz, who marries Ruth. They are the ancestors of David from whose line Jesus the Messiah will come.

How does this show us how things we view as completely wrong, God Still uses for good?

Genesis 39-40 – We return to Joseph’s story. Unlike his brothers and family line, Joseph is not given to deceit.

What theme do you see repeated again and again in describing Joseph’s success (even through all the ups and downs he’s experiencing)?

Psalm 12What descriptors of Jesus do you see in Psalm 12?

What other thoughts or questions does today’s reading bring up?
